    Allan Estcourt Limited of Rotorua, New Zealand, provides industry throughout NZ and the Pacific Basin with specialist advice in mechanical and process engineering along with the extended capabilities, expertise and resources in pulp and paper available from the Jaakko Poyry Group of Finland. The practice services processing industries based on primary production from forestry, agriculture and the energy production and utilization sectors.     Experience

    Initial experience at Kinleith and Kawerau covered most aspects of pulp and paper mill engineering for improvements and capital projects. Energy plant, drying, fans, pumping, piping, vessels and controls were dominant activities.

    Later experience includes dairy, aluminium, timber, oil and gas, bulk materials, thermal power plants and continued involvement in pulp, paper and paperboard.

    Recent projects were paperboard mill modernization estimates, wood waste combustion and co-generation systems, port materials handling facilities for coal and wood chips.

    Experience

    Local authority training and experience included roading, bridging, sewerage and storm water, water supplies and general structures.

    Industrial work has ranged across all forms of materials conveying, biomass energy plants, timber drying kilns, wastewater irrigation and service for industrial plants.

    Pulp and paper mill and dairy factory plant installation design has been dominant in recent years.

    Experience

    Initial technical training in Canada and experience in servicing, installation and commissioning in North America and New Zealand pulp and paper mills. This was followed by several years of petroleum refinery project work.

    Recent experience has been in pulp and paper projects and related work including DCS hardware and software for plant such as boilers, liquid pitch and coal handling, paper stock blending and coating materials handling.
